“A workforce that demonstrates disability confidence really empowers our employer partners to become inclusive workforces themselves. An inclusive workforce also helps employers cast aside preconceived notions about prospective employees with disability,” she said.
Disability Confident Recruiter is a program run by the Australian Network on Disability (AND), a national, membership based, for-purpose organisation that makes it easier for organisations to employ and do business with people with disability. It provides expert advice and professional services to employers, Government representatives and industry bodies. AND builds the expertise of more than 200 members, connects them with others, and supports them to check their progress against access and inclusion goals.
