MAX Solutions will deliver the New South Wales Government’s Smart, Skilled and Hired program to young people in Western Sydney.
The program was developed by the NSW Department of Industry, Skills and Regional Development in response to high levels of youth unemployment and under employment in the region.
MAX Solutions Managing Director Deborah Homewood said the MAX Solutions team in Western Sydney are looking forward to providing specialised assistance to young job seekers.
“Investing in young people through training and education is an investment for the future. Many young people lack the skills, experience or support to either begin work or further expand their careers. We’re excited to assist these people with developing and achieving their career goals.”
The Smart, Skilled and Hired Youth Employment Program helps participants aged 15-24 gain skills and experience to improve long-term job and socio economic prospects. By working with employers and local businesses in Western Sydney, MAX Solutions will help identify the skills gaps and labour market barriers to help these people find and maintain meaningful employment.
Gaining skills and experience is the key for many young job seekers to achieve their employment goals.
Many young people are often lacking the skills or experience needed to enter the workforce as it can be difficult to manage both academic studies and employment. The program will address these barriers as well as transport, education, mental health and childcare.
“Providing transport, appropriate clothing or even accommodation are barriers we can assist with that make a huge difference to these people’s lives. We can help them feel secure and stable when entering a new workplace,” Ms. Homewood said.
MAX Solutions will deliver the Smart, Skilled and Hired program in seven regions across Western Sydney, and will work with community organisations including Youth of the Streets, Aftercare and Rotary as well as the Western Sydney community to deliver services.
