MAX Employment has announced their pledge to find 15,000 people work by Christmas Eve and donate $100,000 to charity to help change lives across the country for Christmas.

The pledge was announced at the launch of their 2015 campaign 15,000 Stars for Christmas. MAX Employment Managing Director Deborah Homewood said the campaign was their biggest yet, with MAX sites across the country keen to reach out to more businesses and communities than ever before.

“Our 2014 campaign saw us find over 10,000 people employment by Christmas Eve. This year we’ve set the bar even higher, and we have already made quite a dent in our target. Over 4,000 job seekers have found work in three weeks!” Ms Homewood said.

Former MAX job seeker Simonne Poole knows the difference a job can make, and attended the campaign launch to let other employers know the difference they can make to other job seekers lives.

“It was disheartening to be pipped at the post, or to apply and not even be told you’re unsuccessful. Almost 12 months of that can completely destroy your self-worth and confidence. It’s hard to maintain momentum and to stay positive and driven.

“I was allocated to MAX in July this year, I had only been with them for a month and they found me not only a role, but the perfect role,” Ms Poole said.

“I go to work every day with a huge smile.  I love my job, and at my new work I am home. I am professionally and personally in my Nirvana. I love to work.”

Ms Poole was placed as HR Manager one month ago with outside school hours care provider Primary OSHCare, and now is giving back by helping MAX place job seekers into work.

“As an employer I am now a client of MAX. And we’ve just gone through our first recruitment drive which has led to the engagement of around 20 job seekers across our network of 32 centres!”
Ms Poole said.

Representatives from Australian charities Kids Helpline, the Luke Batty Foundation, Mates4Mates, and the Adelaide Crows Children’s Foundation were also in attendance, with Ms Homewood announcing that the charities will each receive $25,000 to support their work in communities across Australia.

“We see people from all walks of life come into our sites. Without the support of these organisations, we couldn’t help change lives, so we’re happy to help them out in any way we can,” she said.

15,000 Stars for Christmas will see MAX staff across Australia work with non-government organisations, charities, and local government to find and place 15,000 job seekers before Christmas Eve and assist employers build their workforce.

“A job can change your life. We can’t think of a better way for people to end 2015 and enter 2016 than with a job,” Ms Homewood said.
