The Adelaide Crows AFL Club is no stranger to kicking off a good cause for Christmas. Crows Hall-of-Famer Andrew McLeod and Chief Operating Officer Nigel Smart joined MAX Employment in Adelaide last week to celebrate the success of the MAX national Christmas jobs drive, 15,000 Stars for Christmas.

The legendary Adelaide Crows players joined MAX Employment Managing Director Deborah Homewood and BoysTown CEO Tracy Adams to celebrate the success of the campaign, which has placed thousands job seekers into employment since October.

In the spirit of giving, Ms Homewood said that Indigenous programs run by the Adelaide Crows Children’s Foundation will receive a $25,000 donation as part of the campaign, supporting the Foundation’s work with Indigenous children throughout South Australia.

“The Adelaide Crows Children’s Foundation works tirelessly with students, families and schools to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We are thrilled to be able to donate to the Foundation to continue supporting their work,” Ms Homewood said.

15,000 Stars for Christmas is a nationwide campaign to place 15,000 people into employment by Christmas, and MAX sites across the country are close to reaching their goal.

“Last Christmas, we changed the lives of 10,000 job seekers and were thrilled to hit our target. This year we’re doing extremely well. We’re so happy to change so many lives in time for Christmas,” Ms Homewood said.

“Thanks to the support and campaigning of people like Andrew and Nigel, we have been able to help more job seekers, secure more placements, and bring joy to more families this Christmas.”

Three additional charities will also receive $25,000 each as part of the campaign, bringing the total campaign donation to an amazing $100,000.

The Luke Batty Foundation, Kids Helpline and Mates4Mates will also receive a donation of $25,000,”
Ms Homewood said.

“The four charities have very different but equally worthy causes and at MAX we assist people from all walks of life. So it makes good sense to us to support the organisations that help the people we meet every day, from vulnerable youth, to Indigenous Australians, war veterans, and victims of domestic violence.”

MAX Employment has worked with non-government organisations, charities, and local governments to find and place 15,000 job seekers before Christmas Eve and work with employers to help them build and retain their workforce with ongoing support.

“We’ve reached out to employers’ right across the country for Christmas to support their recruitment and workforce planning,” Ms Homewood said.

“We have just under a week left, and we still want to hear from employers. It doesn’t matter if you’re a large or small business, every job counts!” Ms Homewood said.
