How to Get Started
Researching your course or program of study will make you feel much more confident when it comes to starting and also give you greater assurance that the course you're doing is the right one for you.
If you have a specific job role or pathway that you want to work towards, consider that there might be a combination of studies that will help you get there.
If you have any barriers to study such as language skills, numeracy or computer literacy, consider addressing these with other short courses.
Have a think about where you will study. Check our locations to see where we deliver and how online learning might work depending on your course of study.
Step 2: Check the Pre-Requisites and Eligibility
Some courses will not need any preperation whilst others may need you to have completed a particular certificate or unit of study.
In order to access funding for some courses, you will need to meet the eligibility criteria so be sure to check thoroughly.
Have a look at the individual program pages for AMEP and SEE or if you're looking for vocational courses, you can have a look at the course outlines. If you're not sure, get in touch and we can help.
Once you've decided which course is right for you, you'll need to complete an application to enrol. For AMEP and SEE, contact us or find a training centre near you. For one of our vocational courses, start your enrolment by clicking Apply to Enrol.
You'll need a Unique Student Identifier, so if you don't have one yet, head over to the Australian Government website to get one at https://www.usi.gov.au/
You will need to provide some basic information about yourself, your education and your employment status. We will also need to ensure you meet the appropriate Language, Literacy and Numeracy levels for your chosen course. We will use the information on your application to enrol to make sure the course is right for you. We will discuss anything we identify as a potential issue prior to enrolment.
Step 4: Set up for Success
Once enrolled on to a course, your trainer will make sure you have the support and environment you need to be able to succeed. By completing a support plan with you, we can be sure to be aware of and tackle anything that might affect your study, ensuring your success in completing the course.
Make sure you have a look at the Help and Advice page and our participant manual, so you know how you'll be supported when you study with us.
